Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Kyle asks you to sign in with Apple when you first open it. Hide My Email works, and there's no password. You can also choose Not Now: Kyle still makes you an account, and you can sign in with Apple later to use it on your other devices.
How do I connect my AI?
In Kyle, open Settings → Connect AI and pick your AI. Claude connects through Claude's connector directory: choose Connect and sign in with the same Apple ID you use for Kyle. Muse, Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients get their own steps in the app and in our setup instructions.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI apps connect to external tools. Kyle uses MCP so your AI can read, create, and update your notes directly.
Using Kyle
What can my AI do with Kyle?
Your AI can save notes, add tasks, make boards, search by keyword or meaning, update and file what's there, and attach photos. Ask in plain language: 'Save this recipe to Kyle', 'Add The Sun Also Rises to my Library', or 'What did we decide about the offsite?'
Can I prevent my AI from editing a note?
Yes — lock any note from the menu (⋯) in the note view. Locked notes can still be read by your AI but cannot be modified.
Does Kyle work offline?
Yes. Your notes, tasks and boards are kept on your device, so you can read, create and edit them offline. Everything syncs when you're back online, and if an edit clashes with a change made elsewhere, Kyle keeps both versions.
What markdown is supported?
Kyle supports full markdown: headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, code blocks, tables, task lists, blockquotes, links, images, and horizontal rules.
Account & Billing
What are the free plan limits?
The whole app is free, including the AI connection: Claude, Cursor or any MCP client can read, write, search and file your notes and tasks, with no time limit. So are notes, tasks, the markdown editor, sync, offline, Siri and Spotlight, and Read Aloud. A free account can have six boards in use; empty boards don't count. Notes can be up to 150 KB, the same as Pro. There is a 200-notes-a-day ceiling, which exists to stop scripts rather than people.
What does Kyle Pro include?
As many boards as you like, plus priority support. Free accounts can have six boards in use. Everything else in Kyle is free, the AI connection included. Pro is $1.99/month or $6.99/year, billed through the App Store, and existing subscriptions keep working as they are.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through the App Store. Go to iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Kyle Pro to manage or cancel.
How do I recover my account on a new device?
Sign in with Apple on the new device, using the same Apple ID, and your notes are there. If you added an email address for recovery, you can also go to Settings → Recover Account and enter it; we'll send a code to restore your account.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes all your notes and account data. This action cannot be undone.
Troubleshooting
My AI can't connect to Kyle
For Claude, make sure you signed in to Kyle with the same Apple ID you use in the Kyle app; if it still fails, remove Kyle from Claude's connectors and add it again. For other AIs, copy the full address from Settings → Connect AI: it starts with https:// and includes your key. Then try removing and re-adding Kyle in your AI client. See setup instructions for your specific client.
My notes aren't syncing
Pull down on a board to refresh. If you're offline, changes sync when your connection is back. If it persists, check in Settings that you're signed in, and on another device that it's the same Apple ID.
I hit the daily create limit
That ceiling is 200 notes a day and resets at midnight UTC. It is an abuse guard, not a plan limit, so hitting it by hand is unusual — if an agent is looping, that is normally the cause. You can still edit existing notes.
